BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz ('ベイレイダーズ Beireidāzu) is the anime adaptation of the BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz toy line. It is preceded by BeyWheelz and succeeded by BeyWarriors: Cyborg .

Information

The series aired in in France as BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz, A New Battle Begins (BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz, Une Nouvelle Bataille Commence) and by its working title, BeyRaiderz Shogun.

Like its predecessor, Nelvana commissioned it as a western-exclusive series, being a co-production with d-rights under the name "BRProject".

Broadcast

  • November 1, 2013: First preview in France on Gulli.
  • November 2, 2013: Premiered in Portugal via Panda Biggs.
  • January 2014: Officially aired in France later on Gulli
  • December 2013: Aired on Canal J in France.
  • January 7, 2014: Italian dub aired on Italy's K2.
  • January 4, 2014: English dub premiered in Canada via YTV.
  • January 25, 2014: Previewed in the United States on Cartoon Network as a 2-hr. marathon consisting of the first four episodes, Hope, Friends, Reunion and Challenge. Individual episodes officially began airing on February 1, 2014.[1]

History

  • During BeyWheelz, it was revealed to contain two 13-episode seasons for a total of 26-episodes. While the first season concluded, the second season would later be revealed as BeyRaiderz. It acts as a continuation of BeyWheelz, featuring returning characters like Sho Tenma and new ones like Jimmy Cruise. Additionally, while it retains the same cast, it focuses on BeyRaiderz rather than BeyWheelz.
  • June 11, 2013: Nelvana sent out a press release confirming BeyRaiderz Shogun to have 13 twenty-two minute episodes.
  • October 2, 2013: The first promotional material for the series arrived in the form of Nelvana's official website. The image revealed its new name as simply BeyRaiderz, dropping "Shogun". Additionally, Sho Tenma, a BeyWheelz character was pictured launching a BeyRaider. This confirmed it to be a sequel to BeyWheelz both in toyline and anime form.

Reception

TV Equals compared BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz to Indiana Jones and Atlantis, calling it an animated and "less cheesy" version of the latter.[2]

Synopsis

BeyWarriors: BeyRaiderz follows three characters Sho, Jin and Leon, who are trapped in a strange parallel world. Once defended by the Six Mythic Beasts who upheld justice and brought prosperity to all through the battling Beyraiderz tournaments, this world has since fallen into decay and ruin following the disappearance of the Mythic Beasts. Now it’s up to Sho and his friends to uncover the hidden BeyRaiderz stadiums, do battle with the enemy and bring the Mythic Beasts back to restore prosperity to the derelict world.

Trivia

  • This is the second Beyblade anime made after the Metal Saga where Neil Parfitt and Scott Bucsis did not compose the music (the first being BeyWheelz).
  • The Italian version of BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz uses the original Japanese opening theme and ending theme instead of Nelvana's dub themes.
  • XFINITY TV mistakenly labeled BeyWarriors BeyRaiderz as a program part of Adult Swim[3].
