The third round is explosive, with Tyson just managing to defeat Kai, and becoming the National Beyblade Champion. English Language Adaptation[]

See here for more information.

The following are some of the changes made to this episode in the English language adaptation of the series originally in Japanese.

  • The technical discussion of Tyson’s Dragoon at the beginning of the episode in the English version isn't the same than the one of the original Japanese version.
  • Only in the English version does Tyson's grandfather try to speak differently.
  • In the Japanese version, Takao's (Tyson's) grandfather brought over their whole neighborhood to cheer for him due to the upcoming tournament final battle. However, in the English version, the event was turned into Tyson's grandfather celebrating Tyson's birthday instead, also technically setting it on the given date and, through the episode title Thirteen Candles, even implying specifying here an age for Tyson.
  • In the Japanese version, when eating the neighborhood's food, someone is heard saying, "eat to your heart's content," but this participation was left out in the English version.
  • Unlike in the Japanese version, in the English version, Tyson offers Kai some cake and remarks "what a grouch." In the European Portuguese version, in what is likely an error, this comment ("que rezingão") is heard a second time in a non-cartoon normal voice, after the scenes have moved on to the Seaside Dome.
  • After the first victory, in the Japanese version, someone, apparently from the crowd, says "Wow... He didn't blow away just the Beyblade but the Beyblader too!" This is left out in the English version.
  • Only in the English version does Kai think of his grandfather.
  • Kai admits his defeat in the Japanese version, but in the English version he doesn't.
  • In the English version, the name "Dranzer" is pronounced incorrectly one time. This is recapitulated in the 29th episode, Play it Again, Dizzi!

Trivia[]

  • When Kai is shown Dragoon before the last battle, Dragoon's Attack Ring is incorrectly smaller and drawn with the contact points facing right rather than left, contrasting with its appearance when shown the first time before the first battle.

  • When Max and Kenny join Tyson and Ray after the tournament's final, Ray's cloth keeping his hair together is briefly colored black instead of white. The error happens a few times throughout the season.
