Gary (ガオゥ Gao) is a character in the Original Series, consisting of Beyblade and Beyblade: G-Revolution. He is a member of the White Tigers which was then later renamed White Tiger X. Gary is now an ally of Tyson Granger and the Bladebreakers. His Bit-Beast and Beyblade is Galzzly.

Appearance

Personality

He is the muscle of the White Tigers with Galzzly as his Beyblade and sometimes (or mostly) take orders from Mariah.

Apart from the rest of White Tigers, Gary (as well as Kevin) does not have a feline Bit-Beast, instead he has a bear Bit-Beast.

Gary loves food and has even been known to throw a battle or two because of his insatiable appetite. And even though Gary is a giant, he pretty much keeps to himself.

Gary has a specialty of using his anger for more power in his Beyblade.

Plot

Beyblade: 2000

Gary is frequently seen with the other White Tigers. His first on-screen battle involves him losing after Mariah distracted him with the thought of food. He beats Max Tate 2-1 in a Beyblade match.

Sometime after the Asian Tournament, Gary and the White Tigers head to Russia for an exhibition match against the Demolition Boys. While there, he is beaten by Emily in a team battle against the All Starz. He then loses Galzzly after Kai uses Black Dranzer to destroy his Beyblade, and winds up getting his bit-beast back in the final episode of the season.

Beyblade: G-Revolution

Gary is mostly shown alongside Kevin and doesn't Beyblade as much. In the BEGA League and Justice 5 Tournament sagas, Gary and his teammates, Lee, Mariah and Kevin decided to appear again, but this time to support Tyson and the G-Revolutions and join the G-Revolutions' quest in terminating Boris and his BEGA organization. In fact, Gary, Mariah, Kevin and Lee, alongside, Rick, Emily and Michael of PPB All Starz, Miguel and Mathilda of Barthez Battalion and Julia and Raul of F-Dynasty tries to join Tyson's team, but It didn't Work. Instead, They became Allies of Tyson and supporting him and his teammates as well.

Etymology

Like Kevin and Mariah's Japanese names, Gary's name of "Gao" means "growl" and is also a sound an animal makes. In this case a growl is the sound a bear makes.

"Gao" can also mean "tall" explaining his large size.

Trivia

  • Gary will do anything for Mariah, as he has a crush on her.
  • He is apparently a cousin of Kevin.
