The Hidden Spirits Series, also referred to as the Bakutenhenkei Series (爆転変形シリーズ Bakutenhenkei Shirīzu), was implemented on October 2000. It was developed using the Spin Gear System.
Information[]
The Hidden Spirits Series contains parts that can transform Beyblades into the forms of Mythical Beasts, particularly Dragons.
Hidden Spirits Beyblades have attachment points, in the form of small poles, in which transformative parts can be attached to. While these attachment points are on the Blade Bases on Takara releases, Hasbro releases have these attachment points on the Attack Ring. As such the Takara and Hasbro versions are noticeably different.
All Beyblades in this Series have Blade Bases that are not equipped with Spin Gears, except for Griffolyon and Salamalyon.
Battling with Hidden Spirits Beyblades is possible but a Blader is required to remove all transformative parts before this can happen. According to Takara, non-transformative parts from Hidden Spirits Beyblades are legal in competitions. Hayate's Attack Ring is legal but all other parts on Hayate are not.
All Beyblades released after December 2000 were assigned a serial number with this format: A - 000.

Overall[]
Some Beyblades of this series are quite easy to find, but the Takara exclusive releases are exceedingly rare and represent some of the most unknown Beyblades of the Plastic series. Overall, the Hidden Spirits series should only be bought for collection purposes, with the only exception being Griffolyon and its recolors due to its Attack Ring.
Trivia[]
- All the Japanese releases, apart from Griffolyon and Salamalyon, have the words Bakutenryuu and Dragon on either side of the name.
- There is legend or myth associated with the Hidden Spirits Series that is independent from the Bakuten Shoot Beyblade manga series, corresponding instead with the myth from Bakugaiden, a manga and anime based on Takara's toy series, B-Daman.
